IEEE, the world’s largest technical professional organization advancing technology for humanity, announced today that its journals once again excelled in the journal citation rankings according to the latest Journal Citation Reports? (JCR) from Clarivate Analytics and CiteScore? metrics by Scopus, both released in June 2025. The latest results demonstrate a collective and consistent high-level of performance across IEEE publications in a wide range of technologies in both open access and hybrid journals. In addition, several IEEE journals were ranked at the top of their respective fields.
Piscataway, NJ, July 21, 2025 – IEEE, the world’s largest technical professional organization advancing technology for humanity, today, with the IEEE MOVE Outreach India program, launched its first Mobile Outreach Vehicle (MOVE) to be deployed outside the United States. This marks a significant step in the global expansion of its humanitarian technology program. The MOVE India Vehicle was unveiled today at the IEEE India Office, World Trade Center, Bengaluru. The vehicle is designed to bring educational resources to communities in India and, in the future, provide communication and technology support to relief workers during emergencies in Karnataka.
13 MAY 2025 – IEEE, the world's largest technical professional organization advancing technology for humanity, today announced the commemoration of the IEEE Milestone Project Echo, Telstar, and Discovery of Cosmic Background Radiation that provided evidence confirming the Big Bang Theory. The super-sensitive, horn-shaped antenna was instrumental in the experiments that led to this discovery and established the foundation for modern satellite communications and solar cell technology. The ceremony will be held on 16 May 2025 at Dr. Robert Wilson Park in Holmdel, NJ, where the antenna is located.
20 February 2025 — IEEE, the world’s largest technical professional organization advancing technology for humanity, today announced that Henry Samueli is the 2025 IEEE Medal of Honor Laureate and the first recipient of its $2 million monetary prize. This highest of IEEE awards is bestowed on Samueli, an IEEE Fellow, in recognition of his pioneering research and advances in developing and commercializing analog and mixed signal communications systems circuits, which led to the explosive growth of broadband communication, wired and wireless networking technologies used today. A prominent philanthropist, Samueli is also honored for his significant support for science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) education.
16 January 2025 — IEEE, the world’s largest technical professional organization dedicated to advancing technology for humanity, announced today that it has reached an unlimited read and publish open access agreement with the Coordenacao de Aperfeicoamento de Pessoal de Nivel Superior (CAPES), a federal agency within the Brazilian Ministry of Education, to support researchers who choose to publish via open access.
